Superfecundation – the historical, natural way of dogs breeding.

I know many of you will not like this way of what superfecundation is, but those are the facts and natural breeding way is. Instead of making crossbred dogs and strange, not recognized colors, we can go and implement pure breeding which will affect the improvement of the Cane Corso breed in a shorter time. So, let’s explain this segment of breeding.

Superfecundation is the fertilization of two or more eggs from the same ovulatory cycle by sperm originating from one, two, or even more males. It is a common occurrence in animals, especially rodents and stray dogs. It is possible to even in humans (fraternal twins). This natural phenomenon often occurs in many animal species. I mention it because it is forgotten, but is one of the significant bases of genetics in many newly created dog breeds.

Bloodline formula: the Cane Corso female is the life carrier of the breed.

If we go many many years back in history, many breeds were created and survived in this way – the superfecundation way. Thanks to the mother’s genes, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers. Herdsmen, when they returned from the pastures to the villages, exchanged offspring like this from year to year. The Cane Corso pack guarding the herd had 1 to 2 females and the rest were males. The annual exchange led to the fact that the mothers, due to their small number and possible superfecundation. They genetically dominated and passed on their phenotype through lineal dominant genetics without the owners even knowing it. Unfortunately, they only attributed positive characteristics to males even though they did not deserve them.

Breeding is based on a robust Cane Corso female and good character

Every serious Cane Corso breeder care more about the quality of their breeding females. Their genetic material than they do about males. A good stud dog with an excellent progeny test can be chosen and found by the owner of the female in other Cane Corso kennels. While the breeding female is selected, raised, analyzed, and tested. If it is not of top quality and shows anomalies (especially psychological). The entire two-year selective process fails – the required time before the female is ready for breeding. That is one of the reasons why a female is more important than a male for the breeder.

Females carry Cane Corso puppies in their stomachs for 2 months. Then spend another 2 months with the puppies. Which is not only a genetic influence on the puppies but also an additional four-month influence of receiving experience. Deeply instilling experience through the mother’s reactions to the external environment that the mothers transmit to the puppies. This has been scientifically proven by various experiments.

Without good females, successful Cane Corso breeding is impossible.

Ever since DNA analysis became available and is widely used (for the last 15 years). Superfecundation should be possible with special permission from breeding clubs & kennel clubs to use a planned, primitive method (superfecundation) to improve the quality of breeding Cane Corso. The point is to breed females with two different males to leave the best individuals for the kennel. This will improve the quality of dogs but with shorter time necessary for it. By inline breeding for 2 to 3 generations, it will create bloodlines based on the same grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Based on the DNA analysis, pedigrees by fathers are extracted. It is also unfortunate that backyard breeders often used this system until there was no DNA analysis. These backyard breeders do breed with some males but officially register litter under another male. I hope that honest breeding work, science, and the progress of DNA analysis in the future will lead to even greater progress. Improvements primarily in pure genetic selection, and then in the health of Cane Corsos. Genetics cannot be cheated! There are only backyard breeders who are fraudsters without morals and dignity for the sake of profit.

This way of mating – superfecundation is the most natural way, that is, it boils down to natural selection.

The Cane Corso female carries half the genes!
She also has the responsibility of giving birth and raising her young.

We must not forget in natural selection those who survived the hardest conditions of nature. Those are the most capable individuals that give offspring. The offspring of such Cane Corso individuals produce even more capable and ruthless individuals for survival. Because their mother is an alpha Cane Corso female. Their fathers are the most capable and strongest when it comes to psychophysical traits.

In this way, several strong ones of different but dominant character transmit their genes through a strong Cane Corso female. Their offspring and the basic linear strong dominant gene of the alpha mother and her offspring through incest offspring give even stronger and better offspring for survival.

All Cane Corso breeders must study the females they use in breeding.

With the artificial selection, where humans choose breeding the Cane Corso couple, this “rule” almost does not exist, unfortunately. Not advanced and not serious breeders only look at the number of titles acquired in beauty, neglecting psychological abilities (necessary for survival) and in this way reproduce incompetent and timid individuals for life in nature that survive only thanks to humans. That is wrong breeding way! But serious breeders as Spunk Gang home is, we take all the facts and constantly improve the character, health, and look of our Cane Corso bloodline.

Superfecundation is expressly carried out if approved by the Kennel Club. It is regulated by certain regulations.
