“Merle Cane Corso”?!
The trend of crossbreeding or purebred?
Many of you have seen it colorful Cane Corso somewhere on the internet, and I can bet many of you wanted to have it. Some of you have a question, is that a pure breed – merle Cane Corso?
Cane Corso’s history starts a long time ago, which is a very complex thing as the start and development of the breed. Many different breed people used Cane Corso even later but only for one reason – to save the breed. If you don’t know the real Cane Corso history, it’s time to get it. Make quantity in the past so later can get the pure breed dog which is clear by generations and get accepted by dog associations such as FCI, AKC, and ABKC.
Merle color is not recognized color by purebred Corsos!
Indeed, it’s the trend of crossbreeding, unfortunately. Some people went out of their way to make something “new”. Presenting that as a purebred but new color. Using Cane Corso in breeding with Great Danes. Which has the official merle color accepted. Also, American Bullies exist in this color. In the end with this kind of crossbreeding, people will get a litter from a Cane Corso female, which produced some puppies in merle color.
If the “breeder is lucky”, that litter will consist of some puppies in merle color. If the breeder is many lucky, these puppies will have characteristics of the Corsos breed but in this color, and boom! The price for these puppies will go high.
It is not possible that these puppies have pedigrees. It’s not possible to get a pedigree with this mixed-breed puppy. Otherwise, the breeder falsified the pedigree or issued a pedigree on the other color with other parents.
Don’t let yourself be fooled by the backyard breeder!
Yes, you read well, only backyard breeders will produce merle Cane Corso. As this is crosbreeding and making only because of money. Nothing quality in this!
If you want this color but purebred, go with the American mastiff which is in merle color but is similar to Cane Corso. Even, if you want a huge size dog, go with Great Dane merle in color.
But if you want with the purebred Cane Corso dogs – go on the purebred puppies here.
With that fact, you will have a purebred dog instead of crossbreeding dog.
The trend of this color dog started in 2019 when by accident breeding happens between Corso and Great Dane in Canada. But this litter consists of one puppy this color with the characteristics of the breed. Offer it for no cost to the people who came to Spunk Gang and shared the news.
Ich hätte so gerne wieder einen Hund mein letzter war ein Pitbull er ist aber vor knapp 1Jahr gestorben er hatte aber 12 schöne Jahre bei uns!Das Problem ist leider wie so oft das liebe Geld wir können leider nicht 100 von Euros ausgeben um uns einen zu kaufen zumindest können wir nicht mal so locker 400-500euro auf einmal zahlen und das nächste Problem ist wir haben kein Auto also bei uns hätte es jeder Hund gut wir wohnen direkt am Waldrand und da wir aus gesundheitlichen Gründen nicht arbeiten können wäre der Hund nie alleine und mein Mann der schlimme Depressionen hatte würde dann auch endlich wieder mehr das Haus verlassen das wäre echt perfekt mein Mann hat schon 3Suizid Versuche hinter sich allerdings war das vor meiner Zeit und ich bilde mir ein das mein Hund ihn aus der Depression geholt hat er ist jetzt eine völlig anderer Mensch geworden deshalb wünsche ich mir so sehr wieder einen Hund für uns also ich wäre dir echt sehr dankbar wenn du was wüsstest und dich einfach mal melden würdest ich Danke dir im Voraus und wünsche dir noch einen schönen Tag
Dann schaut man im Tierheim? Warum belästigt man einen Züchter (und macht sich noch nicht mal die Mühe, seinen erbärmlichen Bettelversuch wenigstens mal in Englisch zu übersetzen)? Wer die Anschaffungskosten schon nicht mal aufbringt, will dem Hund wie gerecht werden? Bettelst du dann nach Futter? Nach Tierarztkosten? Nach Sportzubehör? Nach geschenktem Training?
I find these articles so interesting ! I own a Formentino Cane Corso bitch , purely as a pet not for breeding at all , after owning breeding showing and Judging Staffordshire Bull Terriers in the UK for 40 years . I must admit I am puzzled as a newcomer to the breed , about not only the colours but mostly the size and correct head shape of the dog . While reading up on what I could find about the Breed , the European and American Standards , and then the most common ground of seeing the dogs in ‘real life ‘
Social Media , I think one could be forgiven in thinking that there are many different breeds within the Breed of Corsi , so different are the dogs I have seen online . Obviously with my knowledge of dog breeding , NOT Cane Corso breeding , it is clear that interbreeding with other breeds has gone into some of the dogs , between their overall size in height and structure , some weighing in at 200 lbs others at half that , some with huge heads of other mastiff breeds or some dogs clearly crossed with Great Dane giving the height ,different head shape and then the body of a Corso on the Dane legs but apart from it being an obviously extremely well cared for dog as it’s condition was nothing less than superb , it looked like a dog from a child’s game where a person could be made from different people , a head from one body , from another the legs etc ending up with a comedy man.
What was missing that was totally striking to me , was the expression of our Breed ?
In experimenting with breeding these dogs for an exaggerated point , usually the enormous head shape , what is totally lost on the breeder is how the structure of two breeds fit together , the actual skeletal differences of two different dogs don’t fit like Lego ? Neither does the enormous head of , for example an Old English Mastiff , pass through the birth canal of the body of a Corso ? Likewise little thought seems to be given to the health problems of both the dog and Bitch’s breed when their genes are mixed .
The resulting off spring of this pairing can be a real horror show , as has been shown in the back street breeding explosion in the UK during lock down of so called ‘ Micro Bullies ‘ producing litters of puppies unable to breathe or stand up while unable to walk through the skeletal problems the union had produced .
Perhaps we should take heed of these poor puppies having to be put to sleep after suffering incredible pain for only ten weeks of life , when deciding to put A + H together to produce a Frankenstein Corso who doesn’t only not look right in structure , head shape , size etc but more than that we lose the very integrity of our breed .
