Cane Corso joints problem & care

One of the most important thing for the healthy of big size dogs as Cane Corso is – Its the joints!
To improve health life of dogs we have to care about dog’s joints on the time!

Its well known that dog as well as human’s body consist a lot of joints. Several big ones and a lot of small ones. All of that Cane Corso joints are very important so body can do all functions brain says “do it”. Its connected very tight, and all have to work perfectly so body as big part can work as one part.

Cane Corso body is machine and, that machine has a lot of parts inside. Each part – even the smallest one is very important for the good function of body. Brain is the boss of that body, each of parts has power. But joints load transmitters and because of Cane Corso joints, body can gain muscles and look powerfull.

At this lesson, we will talk about big joints into the dog body which may affect general Cane Corso health, so lets start…

Cane Corso joints

Cane Corso joints I will talk about are:

     – Hips
     – Shoulders
     – Elbows
     – Knees
     – Inververtebral joints of the spine

Even inververtebral joints of the spine are small ones, but its directly connected with the head, and each of this joints between 2 vertebrae have very important function, very tight connected with the nervs who transmits certain function to the certain part of the body and what that part of the body will do. With spinal injures, the problems may be very dangerous and hard for the future life of dog, nervs may be injured as well, and then the torment begins…

Cane Corso joints are very similar to the human joints!

Hips. Well know problem with the Cane Corsos, and when we speak about dysplasia. Mostly of you mean to the hips dysplasia, but dysplasia is problem in general for the all Cane Corso joints in body. Each of joint if is not good, it has problem with dysplasia.

   What Cane Corso dysplasia means?

It means that every joint consist at least and normally 2 parts, 2 bones – male and female side, surrounded by cargilage which lubricates 2 parts of bones for very easy and perfectly working, as well there are ligaments which keep that bones fixed.

Dysplasia comes when cartilage isnt enough deep even ligaments are not so strong and can not keep bones fixed. Parts “male” and “female” bones are not perfectly in position, and it can not work excellent, dog will feels pain in harded form of dysplasia.

With the only thing we know that our dogs have dysplasia free or problem, is to check with x-ray and get report from the veterinary experts.

Dogs with problem with dysplasia can live without problems, but breeders should take care and put in breeding program dysplasia free dogs. And its not the end of this probllem! As this is not scientifically proven with the ofspring, just about 25% parents will pass the problem on to the offspring, it still does not mean that we have to use dogs which have problem with dysplasia, in breeding program. If we take care about our puppy during the growing and make quality life with supplementation. Then you can expect that you will have healthy dog.

It is same with the shoulder. Lets check our advices down on the page and improve the quality growing of your Cane Corso joints puppy.

Cane Corso joints

As well with the elbows, situation is the same. We have to improve puppy growing so we will avoid problems later with the terrific dysplasia problems.

Cane Corso joints – knees!

Joint as knee is very loaded with the weight of the dog. More during the training and, we have to care even more with the knees than to the rest, because?

In comparation with the hips even shoulder, both are connected with the fixed part of bone – spine, strong bones connected with a lot of small joints. Very strong and can not be injured so easy. Knee consist 4 parts of bones, femur & tibia as biggest ones. As well fibula and very important one – PATELLA. No one of this bones which make knee are not fixed. All of these can be moved except fibula, but tibia, femur and patella are bones which will move when dog makes steps or running. Strong joint keep only deep cartilage between those parts. Also long ligaments which are strong and keep it safe and in position.

With not enough strong ligaments and if there are no enough muscles which keep strong this bones. With the very thin cartilage, injury can comes easy and then start very big problems as dog can not move normal and feels such a hard pain.

Patella is bone which is not hard connected with the other bones but, it keeps strong only by ligaments and patella will moves every single time dog will moves leg. Patella also provide that joint stay strong and safe.

The question is, how to protect / improve all of these Cane Corso joints?

From my personal experience during the years of breeding, i advice all of you to get supplements and put in diet especially during the growing age.

Supplement which will helps to protect / improve joints are the ones which consist:

   – glucosamine
   – chondroitine
   – msm
   – vitamin C

Glucosamine & chondroitine & msm improve and make stronger joints in general. Keep ligaments strong as well Vitamin C which improves growing of cartilage and makes it deep. With deep and “fat” cartilage, your Cane Corso joints will has easily movement with no pain.

During the growing, do not make your puppy fat, but keep your puppy thin. With it, bones will be no loaded to much, so there will be enough time that Cane Corso joints get strong before dog gets on the weight and look majestic as real Cane Corso should looks.

Do not put your dog into the water if you feel that water is cold and that you feels not good to enter in the water. Cold water can make demage to your Cane Corso joints making cartilage thin and easy to get injured.

Do not put your dog on slippery tiles, joints will get extremly load and can get injury later.

If you want to get strong Cane Corso with a lot of muscles, take into diet supplementation which will protect its joints against injury.

All of the Spunk Gang Cane Corso dogs have in diet special designed formula about this supplements! We keep our Cane Corsos safe and healthy clear by generations!
